Metatron's Cube 3D Sculpture — Lost Wax Cast Copper
Mathematically Accurate · Handcrafted to Order · 4–6 Week Production
Please check sizing before ordering. This sculpture measures 1 inch × 1 inch × 1 inch — approximately the size of a sugar cube. It is a precision desktop and meditation object, not a large display piece. If you have questions about scale, message us before purchasing.
Metatron's Cube is straightforward to render in two dimensions. Building it correctly in three dimensions is a different problem entirely — the spatial relationships between the embedded Platonic Solids require precise geometric modeling that most representations get wrong. This sculpture was developed over two years to solve that problem: a mathematically accurate 3D Metatron's Cube, cast in pure copper using the lost wax method.
The Geometry
Metatron's Cube contains all five Platonic Solids — the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron — the geometric forms Plato identified as the building blocks of physical reality. In two dimensions these relationships are implied. This sculpture makes them structural and spatial, with each solid correctly proportioned and positioned within the whole.
The result is a piece that rewards close examination. Rotate it and different geometric relationships emerge. The copper's natural reflectivity catches the internal structure from every angle.
Lost Wax Casting Process
Each sculpture is produced through lost wax casting — one of the oldest metalworking techniques in existence, used for thousands of years to achieve detail that no other casting method can match.
A high-resolution wax model is 3D printed at 0.1mm accuracy from the mathematically verified CAD file.
The wax model is encased in a ceramic shell, creating a mold that captures every detail of the geometry.
Molten copper at 1,085°C is poured into the mold. The wax burns away, leaving pure copper in its exact form.
Each piece is individually polished by hand. Geometric accuracy is verified before shipping.
Production is handled through Shapeways' master craftsmen. Because each piece is made to order, please allow 4–6 weeks from purchase to shipment.

Copper & Patina
Pure copper develops a natural patina over time as it oxidizes — shifting from bright reddish-gold toward deeper amber and eventually verdigris. Many collectors prefer the aged look. Care instructions are included if you want to maintain the polished finish.
How People Use This Sculpture
Its size makes it well suited for a meditation altar or desk where it can be handled and examined closely. It works as a focal point for sacred geometry study, a tactile meditation object, or the centerpiece of a larger collection. It is also a considered gift for anyone seriously engaged with sacred geometry, mathematics, or spiritual practice.
Custom Metal Options
This sculpture is also available in bronze, silver, and gold-plated finishes. Contact us for custom metal pricing and lead times.
Designed by Randall Morgan, founder of Pardesco — the original sacred geometry designer on Etsy since 2018. The 3D model underlying this sculpture was developed over two years to ensure geometric accuracy that existing representations lacked. It is the only lost wax cast copper Metatron's Cube sculpture built from a mathematically verified 3D model available for purchase.
Common Questions
Each piece is cast individually after your order is placed. Lost wax casting cannot be rushed — the ceramic shell requires time to cure properly, and the finishing work is done by hand.
Most 3D Metatron's Cube objects are created by extruding a 2D illustration into depth — which doesn't correctly represent the three-dimensional spatial relationships between the embedded Platonic Solids. This model was built from geometric first principles in 3D, with each solid correctly proportioned and positioned.
Yes — copper develops a natural patina over time. Care instructions are included for maintaining the polished finish if preferred.

Every piece is inspected for casting quality and geometric accuracy before shipping. If your sculpture arrives with a casting defect, we will recast it at no charge.
